TRAIL BLAZE MARKINGS

Trail Blazes along Hockanum River trails follow the standard blaze-marking format, consisting generally of 1-3 orange rectangles arranged so as to alert the hiker as to the trail's pathways.

Small orange blazes on trees or rocks show which way the trail goes.

Two blazes diagonally arranged indicate there's a turn or intersection ahead. (This indicates a turn to the left.)

Three blazes in an upside-down arrangement indicate a side trail or alternate route.

The side trail is marked with an orange blaze with a white dot in the middle.
